The best school to turn around your child's future - if your child is challenged - he will become normal and if your child is smart he would excel!!!!

When we were moving to Sugar Land, we looked at several exemplary schools. We found a house in the area around Colony Meadows, and all of my children have gone to this phenomenal elementary school. PROS: diversity, caring teachers, low turnover, incredible PTO, lovely secretaries and assistants, highest parent involvement I have ever seen (I hear it is the highest in FBISD?), excellent after-school program (iKids), great librarian with multiple library programs, lots of outside groups brought in by PTO to enhance education, wonderful international club, family-oriented activities (such as Carnival and Fun Run), nice track and playgrounds. CONS: no foreign language (I think that is true for all FBISD schools unfortunately), could use more educational technology (though they just got iPads for several grades), and I would like to see more emphasis on global studies, especially given their demographics. Such an awesome school overall, we have had enthusiastic teachers year after year that I know my kids will remember throughout their life. I thank them for helping me to instill a love of learning and a passion to find out more in my children.

Great school. My children have attended colony meadows for the last four years. They have received a exceptional education There fellow classmates were good kids with involved families. Great PTO. We have moved away this year and it had been very difficult to find another home as warm as CME.

My daughter went here in 5th and it is the BEST PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Ft Bend. First of all, the principal and teachers make this school so pleasant with their demeanor and obvious dedication. It is apparent the principal and teachers work together to make it work as team. All were very caring and my daughter's teacher Mrs. Graves inspired my daughter to read more and she went from a low reading score to 12th grade reading level. The choir programs are awesome. The PTO and parent volunteer's dedication is evident. All made it fun for the children, yet kept it strong academically.

Even though this school is a great place for special ed students it has an awful gifted & talented program! Unless your student has special needs do not send them to this school!

My children had a great year at Colony Meadows. They worked hard to catch up to the high academic standard at Colony Meadows but by the end of the year thanks to their teachers support and encouragement, they were very succesful. The arts program was wonderful. My only critisism is that the extra school curricular activities were lacking as well as sports.

Colony meadows is an excellent school. My daughter has been in this school for 2 years now. She loves the place. The teachers are excellent. The management is good too. The quality of academic programs is good. As for the extracurricular activities, music, art and sports they donot stress on. The parents have several oppurtunities to get involved in the school activites.

The leadership of this school is lacking. The front desk is often rude to parent volunteers. If you have a concern the principal will give you a 'pat' answer and then never follow up or get back to your regarding concerns. The staff while veterans with many years experience are not held to a high standard by the adminstration, therefore a lot of 'slacking' occurs. My chlid has watched more Disney videos in school than I care to count. I also have great concerns regarding the envrionmental tone of CME. I have heard teachers yelling at the kids. I have witnessed older grade children eating lunch at silent tables, and then report to study hall. It makes a long day for a child that can't talk or play all day long. Appaulling! It's a lovely place to live, and very high SES neighborhood. It's a shame the principal allows it.
