Want your son or daughter to be a leader? This school turns out leaders period. I cannot tell you how many fellow classmates are business owners or that are in high level corporate jobs. Deer Park High School prepared us well. Forever indebted to this wonderful school!

Deer Park High School is an excellent school for students who want to take AP classes. It offers a wide variety of AP courses with teacher of varying degrees of ability. However, Deer Park High School is not suggested for students who will not be taking Advanced Placement classes. The regular courses are overly-simplified and only focus on state testing, not college readiness. Many teachers do not even have degrees in the field they are teaching. The fine arts departments are excellent, especially the choir program. Athletics programs do well, but are over-emphasized and put above the actual academic environment, especially concerning football.

HORRIBLE school. The administration and faculty are very unpleasant people. All the thieves and gangs were Also pretty bad. After the first semester of my freshman year, during the Christmas break, I begged my parents to transfer me to La Porte. La Porte is a better environment to be in. If you want a good education and have a good chance of getting to the college of your choice, you'll have a much better chance at La Porte than you ever will at Deer Park.

I think that Deer Park High School is exactly where you would want your child to graduate. My husband and I both went to Deer Park High School and we made sure that our children would graduate here.

2002 graduate. After attending another local school, this school does a wonderful job at preparing students for the future. Doesn't spend a lot of time on learning only what will be on standardized tests, but students are very well prepared for college. Student who go on to college from Deer Park do much better than those of other area schools.

My daughter attended the North Campus (9th) grade school for Deer Park High School. She truly loved all the teachers and the friends she made there. We did experience some thieving within the students in the dance program. These problems where addressed with the principal, put never truly resolved. Even with some of the miss-haps we had through this school year, my daughter excelled in all her classes. She was struggling in math when the school year began. But, the teacher was willing to give one on one help to her after school. And, she rose above her challenges and now carries an A average. Love the teachers and the students, will miss this school, and would still recommend this school to others.

2001 graduate. I felt adequately prepared when I entered college. It is a huge school, so getting lost in the shuffle is certainly a concern for entering students. But the faculty is strong and the administration is supportive. Lots of community involvement.

This school has great athletic, academic, and extracurricular activities that will ensure that your child can find something to be involved in. Facilites are nice and teachers are willing to help as long as the students want to be helped.

Very good school. Does not meet the high academic levels of several of the best school districts in the Greater Houston Area but overall does a very comendable job. Very healthy and wholesome school with most students being the type of kids you would want your child to be around. Minor disipline problems. Very safe school with good academic and extracurricular activities. Little to much emphasis on sports, expically football but this is Texas.
