James Tippit Middle School

As a parent of an 8th grader who started at Tippit in 6th grade, I could not be more proud of this school! My child went from being a shy and timid 6th grader to an amazingly confident student. I have seen my child flourish. She has excelled academically, socially, and emotionally. The teachers and administration authentically care about the whole child as seen in their holistic approach to teaching as seen top down throughout the school. I chose to put my daughter at Tippit. Great choice!Submitted by a parent

Poor, scary school. This used to be an outstanding school for low-income students to get an outstanding education. It's now a school focusing so much time on discipline, they can't work on academics. All their good teachers fled to Leander, Round Rock, and Liberty Hill.Submitted by a parent

Great school. Most of the teachers are great! I'd recommend it. But as one of the other commenters said they focus more on other sports and less on tennis, and the office staff can be a bit snappy. Other than that the schools great!!

We've had a great experience at Tippit!! My student has wonderful, fun, caring teachers and administrators. We especially love band and have thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Tippit has a wide variety of opportunities and is a healthy, supportive environment. Go Titans!!Submitted by a parent

Great school with many opportunities. Dawson is firm, professional and fully engaged. Teachers are great! All of my children will have the chance to attend Tippit. We choose to stay at this school. It's a feeder into EVHS which has scored higher than GHS. Tippit rocks!Submitted by a parent

I think the school is fine. I went there all off middle school. But maybe from a parent or teachers view its not that great of a school but im was a student there and its just like any other middle school.

This school is horrific! I am filing a formal complaint against this school with the school district. I am also concurrently filing a stolen property report with the Georgetown Police department against a member of the faculty at this school. I would absolutely advise not to send your child to school here. They are absolutely not receptive to speaking with the asst. principal to rectify a situation. I was even told "while making a police report I didn't need to do it while on their property" Rude, incompetent thieves run this school.Submitted by a parent

Principal is demeaning and favors certain teachers and students. If you have a child who has academic or behavioral problems don't go to this school.

Overly focused on sports, excluding Tennis. Lack of teacher updating websites. Office staff, not too friendly.Submitted by a teacher
